Celebrating our same interest :)

After the successful traverse from Balingkilat to Nagsasa Cove in Zambales, me and my best came up with the idea to celebrate our special day at Mt. Cristobal. We re-packed our bags and set out for another unusual (for most couple) celebration.

Road to Montelibano
Mt. Cristobal was known as the "devil's mountain" simply because it is located just behind the so called "holy mountain" which is Banahaw. Standing almost 1,400 masl, Cristobal is a mountain of diverse ecology. I even saw crawling animals which i can't distinguish, and just let it be. But before reaching its forested area, climbers must and will be walking to a steep concrete path for 45 minutes to reach Montelibano's house which serve as the jump-off of Mt. Cristobal. ( at mas hahaba pa since under construction yung road!!!).

After a quick lunch at Montelibano's we pushed on, the trail is unchanging ( this was my third climb to Cristobal), mahirap padin kasi matataas ang hakbang. Pero maganda dito after an hour of walking kumulimlim hanggang sa dumilim, and as we expected it pours... with our handy kapote on hand, my half body remains dry, pero the rain seems to be unending so we decided to stay put. With our trapal (serve as our groundsheet ) my Best created a little sanctuary while we wait for the rain to stop. We still manage to strike a pose while it pours. :)

So the rain finally stopped, and we manage to navigate our way to the summit where we  pitched our tent and spend the night. With pre-cooked and packed foods, lots of water and a hot coffee to share with, we celebrated our days and reminisce the past. Over looking the beautiful scenery that the mountain has to offer.

I thank God for this experience and for the blessing of having someone to share our same interest. Till then :)
