Mt. Balingkilat has been considered as on of the highest peak in Zambales Coastal Mountains, also being known as the Mountain of Thunder by the locals. It was once known as " pointed peak" based on it's appearance. Compare to the mountains we have traveled before this mountain is grassy and rocky all through out the trail, this mountain can be treacherous on both Philippine season.
During summer, and just what we have experienced, extreme heat and exposure to the sun, and as for the rainy season slippery rocks and wind can be a challenge. Water is the biggest and important factor in this kind of climb, since during this extreme season of heat most of its water sources has been dried up. Luckily my Best carried enough for us to last.

After long hours of walks and looking for shades we arrived to its peak, exposing us to the beauty of the mountain ranges, vast ocean and its white shores.
