Kasalan sa Probinsya

Recently I was given a privileged to attend a provincial wedding and was really overwhelmed with the celebration. There were too many questions in my mind on what was that and why it has to be that way.. (anxious preparing in my mind what type of wedding I should have).

As we travel our way to the wedding destination, i have this question at the back of mind... anu kaya ang mangyayari.. for the wedding took place at my Best homeland, Oriental Mindoro, where the Bride was his older sister..( kabado to the max, kahit di ako kasama sa entourage).. I know everyone will ask kung sino ako, but luckily and happily I feel comfortable kahit may sakit ako.

Well, let us get back to the wedding... This are what i have learned about traditional wedding in the Province.

Surigao Visit

After a long drama week, finally I was able to visit Surigao City, flying alone via airphil express 2P 065 to Surigao, packed with my bags and stuff, I am ready to see my Best..
The flight was literally blood quenching, i was seated beside a foreigner (from London) , which was her first time in the Philippines as well in Surigao. So the plan of sleeping through the journey vanished, as she talked and talked about the places she went to (imagine the accent) as I was required to answer back. Well, thankfully the flight of an hour and a half landed, and I was more eager to get off and run towards the exit since from the airport I was able to see my Best, waiting. :)

We spent the first night at the city proper, where we make plans for tomorrow,  I on the other hand is also checking on the place where my Best do stay before heading to Dinagat, buti nalang matino yung lugar. hehehe.
Surigao is not a big place after all, multicab and tricycle is the way to get around it, and of course we can walk. Surigao is definitely for surfers and water junkee..so for our next day destination. I just enjoyed the view.(hehehe, duwag ako sa tubig eh.. lalo pa sa alon) hehehe..

We stayed at Mt. Baragabon Mountain Beach resort, literally the resort is at the mountain edge, with pebble like rocks as its sands.. surrounded by coconut trees..even with the misunderstanding due to language  barrier hehehe, di man ako marunong mag Bisaya, we stayed at the pavilion. The room is nice, with aircondition, hot water bath, clean bed, cabinet for stuffs, cable television, mini table and a veranda, everything was nice. Admittedly food was good, actually very good!!!..with specially low price!. so all in all, I enjoyed it..... hahahha.. We spend our time hanging around, laughing, eating, and watching anime, just an old good quality time together.

On our 3rd day, we once again packed our bags and make our way back to the city, a decision we have to make kasi I am due to fly back to Manila the following day, so we walked our way along the shore line until a visible multi cab can be seen, and after 15 minutes we are backed to its city..Deciding to be a little luxurious and to try something new, we checked in at Tavern. Small but classy hotel with sea view and city view rooms. We situated ourselves at room 407 were we spend our last night together at Surigao. :)

Choices

Choices in life may seems be unfair at most but as you get through it, that's when you know it makes perfect sense,
as everyone say toss a coin if you need to make a decision, it is not whether its head or its tail but at the short time that coin was in the air you definitely knew what are you hoping for.
Choices are made in between, in each seconds of ones life, decisions are being made.

big and small

I love places that make you realize how tiny your problems are and how Big life has to offer.. :)

Movie time: "The VOW"

"I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they’re not. To agree to disagree on red velvet cake, and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home." - Paige

A prayer

Amen.

Culinary Lessons

Finally two other dishes has been included on my list. Thanks to my Nanay for allowing me to snoop around the kitchen.

I just woke up one Saturday morning that I want to do something..and that's it, too bad I don't have sample picture to share it with.. :( next time I will not forget to take a photo of my master pieces (heheheh smirk).. Yesterday I cooked " Afritadang Manok" , napakasimple lang pala ng process nun haha kinatakutan ko pa..parang salciadong manok na walang itlog lang hahaha.. And now I know the difference between afritada and other dishes with sauce..ITS the tomato sauce!! nice nice nice.. buti nalang me mentor ako.
It turned out to be quite a lovely dish..and im proud of it.
my very first Menudo :)

And today (Sunday) I woke up with the same urge..too cook. After ng mass I've prepared our today's menu "Menudo", mabusisi at ang daming sahog..and in the back of my mind while I'm dicing the potato and carrots, "gaano kaya kadami sahog at meat kung pang dalawang tao lang".. hahaha.. I wonder why I thought of that. :) . And after the "kangawit minutes" of preparing the sahog.. I've done it, again..!! :)

I know I can't be as good cook as Nanay but I'm appreciating each details and small lecture she is eagerly sharing with us. sabi nga lang ni Nanay " Sana matututo ka na mamalengke"..

I'm looking forward for another cooking session. :)

The Journey of Love and Life

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

                                                                                                     1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Celebrating our same interest :)

After the successful traverse from Balingkilat to Nagsasa Cove in Zambales, me and my best came up with the idea to celebrate our special day at Mt. Cristobal. We re-packed our bags and set out for another unusual (for most couple) celebration.

Searching and finding

I used to be a small believer of love and relationship because of the pain of the past. But as time passed by I learned to heal, to let go and accept. I learned to open up myself and to know more of what I was really looking.Searching to find is never an easy task but my faith led me to the person I am proud to be with, the person I know can share the rest of my life, the one that completes me. My Best friend.

Summer extreme: Mt. Balingkilat traverse to Nagsasa Cove

Mt. Balingkilat viewed from Nagsasa cove
Mt. Balingkilat has been considered as on of the highest peak in Zambales Coastal Mountains, also being known as the Mountain of Thunder by the locals. It was once known as " pointed peak" based on it's appearance. Compare to the mountains we have traveled before this mountain is grassy and rocky all through out the trail, this mountain can be treacherous on both Philippine season.

one hard way to go

I am starting to worry about my irregular bowel movement, It usually took me 4 days to have a successful "GO" which is so frustrating. I happen to take several remedies that works for the meantime but I grew immune of those remedies. A friend of mine told me to try Dr. Tam's miracle to cleanse my colon and to normalize my bowel. Last Monday, I managed to buy and now I'm on my 3rd day. Hopefully everything will went well after the 10th day.

Gear up: Kovea burner

Efficient, convenient, affordable and portable, this is my Kovea gas burner. This has been with me for 2 years and definitely useful during an outdoor activity or just at home (lalu na pag walang gasul). Loaded with butane gas that you can buy on any hardware store for less than 100 pesos, this stove is ready for cooking. This has been very handy during my Pulag climb since it was used not just for cooking but for warming ourselves on that icy night.

Still caution has to be implied in using such, always make sure that when using a burner keep it away from combustible materials and always check on the connection of the stove and butane gas,any signs of leak may cause harm. Have it check by professional or refrain from using it. Safety first..

Gear up: Sierra Design Tent Vintage

This my home away from home, literally. I bought it from a friend with a free Montanara bag. It may look as though its heavy but it's not. Made from feather light poles and light waterproof and breathable fabric this tent protect me from harmful sun ray and harsh winds. It can accommodate 2-3 persons comfortably. This tent keep us dry, warm in most of my climb. It may not have the sleek design of the newest tent available in the market but I knew it has done its purpose.

craving for sardines

Did you know that sardines are ample source of nutrients ( ako hindi..but now i know).
That tin cans of silvery fish do contain more calcium, protein, iron attained from separate dish alone.
Well definitely I did not know that either, all i know is
"masarap ito sa sinangag sa umagang malamig". But as i search for foods that have nutritional
value that would help me regain my health, sardines is definitely a candidate.
And take note one cost lower than other tin cans available in the market. As for my meal today i'll buy one.

For each new day also came with new challenge, challenge that might make us stumble on our feet, even how painful was the fall, as long as you believe you will always have the strength and courage to stand up, walk and face it once again.

Juice fast

I have researched on how i'll be able to do the juice fast. Well honestly its not a fast at all since i still eat solid foods, such as wheat bread and apple. But was able to regain my old self again and also reduce pounds in 2 days. I am planning on doing the apple flush ( liver flush) as well, that is why i did started juicing, for preparation  that is what I call it.

On the early days of my fast.

Apple Carrot Juice

Juicing

A few weeks back a friend of mine introduced me to the health benefits of juicing, and i just listened. Until when I step on that weighing scale in my; office..to my disbelief I attained the maximum weight for my height ( of course i wont tell what was my weight.. : )) But truly i was so shocked and it took my focus, it keeps me thinking how can i be so careless. Before that shocking weight was revealed I was feeling so tired and almost no energy at all after work, I feel so bloated at seems aging to quickly. I planned to run but to tired to get up, i planned to do a strict diet but since my office is somewhere near a mall well nothing works. Then one morning i felt so sick since I'm constipated and its almost 4 days with no success. That takes me back to that small talk i have with my friend. I started juicing. I went straight to Abenson and buy my very own juicer.
